Mumbai: At chapel Road in Bandra Mumbai on Saturday night a 29 -year-old man was found dead in an open compound of outside an apartment. Police are currently looking for the accused.

Deceased, Anjurmani Tiwari use to worked as a salesman at a garments store in Bazaar Road, Bandra and also worked as a security guard at Malhar building at Bandra Reclamation. Accourding to source Tiwari was from Uttar Pradesh and migrated to Mumbai over 12 years back. Tiwari was residing in a rented house near Mount Mary Church in Bandra.

After completing his job from the garment store, he was heading to Malhar building based in Bandra Reclamation. On the way, he was attacked. His body was found in an open compound outside Cecilia Villa in Chapel Road with multiple injuries on his chest. “Streetlights on this road have not been functioning properly, which leads to the road being unsafe and deserted at night,” said a nearby resident on condition of anonymity.

The police have recovered his mobile phone and his wallet which had his driving licence and Rs. 1,800 in cash. “The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. We are currently examining whether if he had any enemies. There were no eyewitnesses and there is no CCTV footage of the incident,” police officials said. “An FIR has been lodged under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC against unknown people. Investigations are underway to trace the culprits,” said Pandit Thackeray, senior police inspector of Bandra police station. His body was sent for post-mortem to Baba Hospital, Bandra.
