A 56-year-old trustee of Dahisar’s Jain temple Ambalal Jain, was on Saturday arrested by the MHB Colony police for allegedly outraging the modesty of a 24-year-old woman and intimidating her by making abusive comments and released on bail the same day.
The complainant has alleged that Jain, a resident of Dahisar, always leer at her whenever she visits the temple. On this Saturday morning when a girl visited the temple with her parents then Jain apparently started screaming at them over some altercation he had with the girl’s father, the police said quoting the complaint.
“According to victim statement Jain made some indecent comments against me and my mother then the mother made the complaint,” said a police official. Also added that victim said accuse Jain was very friendly with the victim’s father until some time ago. “Earlier, he would always look at me in a wrong way but never crossed the line,” the woman told the police in her complaint. However, a few days ago Jain had a fight with her father and the two stopped talking.
Ambalal Jain treasurer of BJP Dahisar Lok Sabha constitution and trusty of a Jain temple and due to his influence, he released on bail soon after being arrested.
Through reliable sources, news house comes to know that Jain has good support from BJP and business card says the same that he is associated with the BJP, but corporator Manisha Choudhari said Jain has no relation with the party and has not attended any party meeting or activity for the last two years.
