The viral photos showsSuryanarayana and his wife offering pots of gold and cash bundles worth several lakhs to Goddess Varalakshmi, which he described as his ‘hard earned’ money.
Suryanarayana went on to say that he had withdrawn Rs 88 lakh from the bank for the Pooja and used 1.23kg gold to decorate his Pooja room.
People who saw the viral photos on social media, however, are not that convinced. Questions are being asked about how, at a time when income tax officers are raiding Congress leader DK ShivaKumar’s place, people like Suryanarayana are escaping the IT net despite such show of wealth.
