Clash between MU and ICSI Exam

After postponing ATKT Law Exam University of Mumbai (MU) has rescheduled ATKT three-year and five-year Law exams on the same dates as the Company Secretary (CS) examinations, making it impossible for CS aspirants to take the tests.

After student approach to the director of Mumbai university examination, the controller had postponed 13 law examinations due to late declaration of re –evaluation result. The stepped date taken by Arjun Ghatule resulted clash with CS exam. The CS student who are also pursuing law, have written a letter to the university, requesting the authorities to reschedule the tests again, in order to avoid the overlapping of Law and CS papers.

“The city base students group had demanded the postponement of the repeat examinations, but the university changed the schedule of several regular exams as well.

MU revised timetables of second and seventh semester BLS LLB and third and fifth semester of three-year LLB are overlapping with CS exams holding on December 21 and 30. While the exact number of CS aspirants in law couldn’t be approximately 200 students in the city.

With this recurring issue of CS and Law exam clashing is become a new subject to Mumbai university. In the month of October MU had to change the dates of BCom and law exams to allow students to take the Chartered Accountancy (CA) test.

The university official said that being an autonomous body, the university often doesn’t consider other competitive tests while planning its examination still we are likely to consider the request made by the students and decision will be taken shortly.
