The oil minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted on Wednesday that the government will soon start home delivery of diesel and petrol, and consumers can place their order online as they do for other goods. He said “We already got permission to do that. When I presented the idea, a lot of people were skeptical, and now it is becoming a reality”.

When Pradhan said at the India Mobile Congress event that all petroleum products will now be available on e-commerce platforms.
Pradhan, as of now, has not declare that all this product are available on which website and how consumer can place his or her order as well as what are the restrictions for ordering fuel online.
It was also declared earlier by the Indian Oil Corporation they will launch the diesel home delivery within two months. Oil marketing companies have been waiting for clearances for their products from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.
However, this innovation of home delivery already has been taken up in Bengaluru as new startup My Petrol Pump in selected areas of the city to the residents who order or pre-book refueling at any time.
The idea behind this service is to reduce congestion at fuel station to save people’s time.
