Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam’s allegation on BJP government in a press conference on Wednesday that Chief Minister’s Secretariat Pravin Darade has given a clean chit to a private company (Vidarbha Infotech) for towing vehicles without investigating.

He says, “we have an evidence against the Chief Secretariat of Chief Minister Shri Pravin Darade for giving a clean chit to Vidarbha Infotech without investigation. As per the tender, condition is written that only a company can apply for the tender who has minimum five years of experience in towing vehicles. But the tender has been given to Vidarbha Infotech Company, who has no prior experience of Towing vehicles.

A couple of days back Nirupam had accused the Chief Minister’s secretary Pravin Darade and the contractual company in connection with this case. Immediately after this the Chief Minister’s Secretariat had denied the allegations and said that the matter has nothing to do with the Chief Minister’s office and Praveen Darade. While showing the documents, he said that on April 8, the tender of tendering turned out, on May 27, the contract of towing was given to Vidarbha Infotech. The traffic police are signed by the then joint commissioner of Police Milind Bharambe. He wrote that Vidharbha Infotech fulfills all the conditions of the tender, so he is being given the contract.

Nirupam also said, This scam has been connected with Nagpur as  Chief Minister, Vidarbha Infotech Company, joint commissioner of traffic police Milind Bharambea all are from Nagpur, as well as Praveen Darade, who is close to Chief Minister, has long been in Nagpur.

Dnyaneshwar Jere, secretary of the Mumbai Towing Van Association and his lawyer, Mote Pote was also present at a press conference. Dnyaneshwar Jere alleged that the government has taken the livelihood of 1500 families who were totally dependent on towing business just to benefit the Vidarbha Infotech Company.

Dnyaneshwar Jere also said that in Mumbai, the penalty of 5 lakh rupees is recovered in the form of towing of vehicles. The penalty which was charged earlier had a separate government receipt, but for Vidarbha Infotech, the Government is still recovering. The government has contracted the company for seven years and according to the agreement, the company also has the right to increase the penalty amount by 10 percent every year. At present, the company charges Rs 660 for the car’s towing and Rs 426 for the motorcycle. Of this, 400 rupees for the car and 200 rupees for the motorcycle company meets the company and the remaining amount goes to the government account.

Maharashtra Government and Vidarbha Infotech Company are plundering Mumbaites together we have presented the evidence, now the government should stop it immediately. – Sanjay Nirupam

Milind Bharambay, the Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police said, the entire process of tender has been done under the law and according to the rules. There is nothing wrong in this. Therefore, whatever allegations are being made, all of them are baseless.
