Mumbai’s neighbouring city come into crime limelight when Palghar Local Crime Branch (LCB) raided along with Talasari cops team and seized the drugs worth rupees 40 crore.
The LCB Palghar had arrested three individuals on Sunday 24 September named, Stephan U, who is a Nigerian with two locals, Sarfaraz Memon and Sohail Memon- from Stella, in Manickpur,Vasai with 22 kg drug worth Rs 22 lakhs and also with black Audi car.
During the interrogation cops got the lead for more drug hideout in the farm house which is located at Dapchari in Talasari, Palghar district.
In the raid, the cops found huge quantity of pure heroin, MDMA (a recreational drug) drugs. “The worth of total drug is around Rs. 40 crores in the international market confirmed by the Palghar police.
Police also took Karnataka registered Fortuner SUV into custody but other three accused are absconded as they got clue of police raid.
SP, Manjunath Singe, Palghar said, “This is the biggest achievement of Palghar police, now we are on the trail of the three accused who are absconding during raid. According to police the drugs might be smuggling either from Gujarat or Karnataka and Palghar was used as a transit point. Conclusion counted drugs future transportation might be Mumbai or other areas of Maharashtra and the total worth of the drugs and the car is around Rs 40.20 crore.
A case registered under Sections 9(c), 25(a), 27(a),29,8(c) and 22 of the NDPS Act,1985 against unknown persons has been filed. The farm, spread over around 10,000 square feet was allegedly being used to store the drug and the cops will be questioning the tribal owner who gave the farm on rent.
