DGP N R K Reddy, orders for enquiry against those 250 cops in Jodhpur who went on mass leave on Tuesday and also against that policemen who refused to give guard of honour on the visit of Union home minister Rajnath Singh.

The senior police told to TOI on Tuesday that most of the policemen who bunked from Jodhpur and Sriganganagar have reported back for duty on Tuesday but still 23 more policemen from Bharatpur not yet tonsured.

Police headquarters (PHQ) has asked senior’s to visit police lines and talk to the constabulary, and dine with them to sooth the fraying nerves.
The matter happened due to rumours about police salary cut from the state government. DGP Singh, issuing a letter to the constables for ignoring rumours.

Said an official “Much of these protests are confined to places like Jodhpur and Sriganganagar and other places situation is under control, Jodhpur police have a quite strong work ethic. We are talking to constabulary and compromise would be reached.”

DGP Singh told TOI that action will be taken against erring policemen and PHQ has sought out the list from all districts. As per the law men in uniform are not supposed to protest in public even though they protests and started boycotting mess food.

Police who known to keep the discipline turn into indiscipline by a few even had been dealt with a firm hand at the initial stage, it would have brought order not only in the entire force but would have also saved the state the big embarrassment and it shows the strong mechanism to handle its grievances has somewhere unacceptable by department.
