Anamika Majumdar is a social worker who is married with two kids. She runs an NGO called Faith In India – Female Aura, which is initiated towards Hope from Jamsedhpur. After winning this staggering prize money, Anamika said that she will invest the amount in her NGO that works for rural areas of Jharkhand.

Majumdar wants to use the money wisely, a suggestion given to her by none other than Big B himself. “After winning the show Mr.Bachchan told me that I must use this huge amount wisely and not take any hasty decision. I want to wait for this excitement to subside and then take the right step,” says the social worker, whose charity works to help children in difficult circumstances in Jharkhand.

After she had won Rs1 crore, the 41-year-old was given the option to play the jackpot question for a chance to Rs 7 crore, but she decided to not take that risk. Recalling the moment when she was declared a crorepati, Majumdar says, “The moment Bachchan sir said that my answer is right I wanted to cry out of joy, but I didn’t want to cry in front of everyone else… I knew my kajal would get spoiled but I couldn’t contain my tears.”

Majumdar, who comes from Jamshedpur says, “I want to spend this money to help people. Although I am tempted to go back home and use it immediately, I want to come up with the best way to utilize such a big amount.”

Anamika Majumdar from Jamshedpur has created history by becoming the first one to win Rs 1 crore on this season of the famous quiz show. She says “After I won Rs 50 lakh, I was taking a lot of time on every answer and I knew I wouldn’t get such a chance again. All my lifelines were over and I didn’t want to lose after reaching that point. I was confused by the final question, but the final decision of 2-3 seconds changed my life”.

Though it’s been a month since KBC has started airing again, there hadn’t been a contestant who could boast the “crorepati” tag this season.
