Mumbai: After a long time technology has taken a turn to reduce the pain of  Mumbai traffic police who is doing field job and on Friday they came in for a surprise after they were provided with “pressure socks”. These socks will be worn by the traffic policemen to reduce their varicose veins which were affected due to long hours of work.

At least 3500 such socks were distributed to the traffic police. These socks would provide relief to a person wearing them while performing long hours of duty.  These socks can help in avoiding conditions like varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis which are caused due to blood clots in the veins. The socks were distributed by a private firm named as Capital First Private Limited.

“Once the traffic police constable wears them, it will give them relief from pain caused due to their long hours of on-field work,” said Anurag Mishra, National Manager of Capital First. A traffic constable is supposed to wear the pressure socks first before wearing the normal socks.

“The socks helps in reducing stress to the veins and improve the blood flow back to the person’s heart. The socks will help in reducing aching on the legs due to long hours of work which involves standing,” added Mishra. The traffic police constables were glad to know that the socks would help them in reducing pain in their legs.

“The traffic constables are looking forward to wear the socks from Saturday onwards. The long hours of work has caused mostly leg related problems to most of the constables. We hope these pressure socks help in reducing the pain,” said ShivajiPhadtare, Inspector at Mumbai Traffic Police headquarters in Worli.
