On Sunday, External Affairs Minister Smt.Sushma Swaraj by tweeting a video and a news report of 2013 Lok Sabha proceedings targeted the Opposition’s Presidential candidate, Meira Kumar, and questioned her neutrality by The video show the then Leader of Opposition Swaraj’s speech being repeatedly interrupted by Kumar, who was then Lok Sabha Speaker during the UPA-II regime.
Smt.Swaraj also said in her tweet, “This is how Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar treated the Leader of Opposition.” In another tweet, she also posted a news report – of the same Lok Sabha proceedings – headlined: “Speaker interrupted Sushma 60 times in the 6-min speech.” In the six-minute video, Swaraj is seen lambasting the Manmohan Singh-led dispensation for alleged financial scams, and calling it the most corrupt government since Independence. Four minutes into the video, Kumar is seen repeatedly saying “alright”, “thank you”, “okay”, “I have to proceed”, apparently to cut short Swaraj’s speech.
