On 01 Nov 17, a tragic accident occurred at the Feroze Gandhi Thermal Power Plant of NTPC Ltd. at Unchahar, Uttar Pradesh resulting in heavy casualties. One Indian Air Force An-32 aircraft was positioned at Lucknow airfield based on the request received from Ministry of Power for evacuating the causalities to Delhi. Around midnight hours of 02/03 Nov 17, IAF aircraft evacuated seven very seriously ill patients, along with their seven family members and three medical staff, to Palam, from where the patients were shifted to civil hospital for further treatment.
