Vice-President Hamid Ansari is about to retire and the new Vice-President is elected on August 5. In such a way, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan yesterday hosted a farewell dinner for him. It was a dinner arrangement for all the MPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the talk of the dinner was Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien’s tweet.
Derek O’Brien tweeted, “I am in the Farewell dinner organized by the Lok Sabha Speaker for Vice President. All the ministers and the leaders of the opposition are present here, there is the only veg in the food, I will go home and eat fish curry.” He was so dismayed to know the line-up of the vegetarian dishes that he took to Twitter and shared his agony. And yes, we could relate and it seems like many on Twitter could as well.
