Meghwadi police on Saturday arrested a father-son, Mohammed Jumani (47) and Nissar (23), with drugs that are notified as psychotropic substances from Jogeshwari (East). While Jumani is a vegetable vendor, Nissar runs private cab. The drugs were meant to be sold.The duo has told the police they took up the crime to earn quick money.
Assistant commissioner of police (Meghwadi division) Milind Khetle laid a trap after receiving a tip-off. A cop posing as decoy customer called Jumani and asked for drugs named Alprazolam and Nitrazepam. After confirming that the duo had the drugs in bulk, the decoy signaled his team.
The police raided their house at Pascal Colony and seized 1,100 tablets. They are booked under NDPS Act.
