To keep the special importance of data protection and in order to keep the personal data of the citizens of the country safe and secure, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, on July 31, 2017, before the Supreme Court of India, Justice BN. A committee of experts has been constituted under the chairmanship of Shri Krishna. This committee comprises members of the government, academia, and industry. This committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of identifying important issues related to data protection and ways to study and solve them. Simultaneously, the committee will also suggest a draft of the Data Protection Bill. The preservation of data is expected to give a boost to the digital economy in the country.
