Jain Muni Shanti sager, accused of rape now in Lajpore jail, Muni Shanti sager held for raping 19-year-old girl on 15th October at Surat.
Muni Shanti Sagar refused to eat food provided to prisoners. He has demanded food with no garlic-onions. Kalpesh Desai, advocate of Muni Shanti sagar has appealed the court for no garlic-onions food but it is still pending and till date accused is having fruit and milk.
Victim’s native place is Madhya Pradesh and currently living in Vadodara, the teenager and her parents had accepted Acharya Shantisagar of the Mahavir Digambar Jain Mandir as their guru in March 2017.
Victim went to seek his blessings with her brother and parents on 1st October. Acharya allegedly convinced them to stay back for the chanting of mantras. Then he allegedly took the girl to another room, on pretext of performing puja and raped her,” the police said. The girl was initially afraid of reporting the incident but finally confided in her parents and an FIR was filed after 11days. She was sent to the government hospital for medical check-up of the teenager has confirmed that she had been raped by Muni Shanti sager.
Acharya Muni Shantisagar is arrested from Digambar Jain temple of Nanpura by eight cops. He has been kept in jail as a normal prisoner.
According to law every prisoner is known by his number allotted by jailer and muni has been called by his number too that is Kaidi number 11035. His barrack B is 4-3. There are 15-20 prisoners in that barrack.
