New Delhi: Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, while rejecting the CAG’s report about the ammunition for 10 days for the war, said that there is ample content in the country and its procurement process has been simplified. Jaitley today gave this information in response to a question asked by Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party during the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, referring to the report submitted by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in the past. He said that this is an important issue but it is a matter of the year 2013. Now the procurement of weapons has been simplified and rights have been decentralised and recently the necessary ammunition has been procured.

Jaitley said that the report of CAG has been given in the context of special time but after that, there has been a lot of progress in this. He also said that we do not discuss CAG report but it is likely to be considered in the Public Accounts Committee. On the statement of Jaitley, Congress’s Anand Sharma said that what the government was doing for three years. The government has set up a committee just 10 days before simplifying the purchase process. Several Opposition members supported this and Sharma wanted to speak, Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien said that if they want a detailed discussion on this, give notice.
