Railway minister Piyush Goyal and defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis visited at Elphinstone Station in Mumbai where on September 28, killing 23 and 35 injured people in collapse of bridge.

After the visit, 15:30pm on 31st October Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis given the statement, that “Indian Army will build new foot overbridges at Elphinstone Road and 2 other train stations”

 Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam slammed the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena combine and wondered if the government will next dial the Army for menial chores like filling potholes in the city’s roads.

Same time Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh panned the decision, pointing out to the defence minister that it would divert defence resources to civilian jobs and set a “bad precedent”. The @adgpi job is to train for war, not to be used for civilian works @nsitharaman ji. Don’t divert defence resources to civilian jobs.
