Mumbai Thane: Iqbal Kaskar, brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who was arrested by the crime branch of the Thane Police revealed that the fugitive gangster used to fund Zakir Naik’s NGO Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) for criminal activity. Kaskar has made revelations on Tuesday under interrogation in police custody.
However, this is not the first time when Zakir Naik’s connection with Dawood Ibrahim has come to light.
Earlier, Zakir Naik’s chief financial officer (CFO) Aamir Gazdar had also claimed that the prime accused in the 1993 serial blasts funded Zakir Naik’s.
Dr.Massey said, Zakir Naik is the only person who produced ISI candidate in his factory in India who were innocent Muslims through his own spiritual preaching by misguiding them in the name of Jihad and it is proved in the month of August when it was revealed in NIA investigation the arrestee were influenced by Naik’s Speeches.
The 51-year-old televangelist, who is currently abroad, is being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for charges related to terror and money laundering. The Mumbai-based preacher, who left India on July 1, 2016, came under the lens of security agencies after some terrorists allegedly involved in the attack on a cafe in Dhaka in July last year reportedly claimed they were inspired by his speeches.
Gazdar had alleged that the said funding by Dawood Ibrahim used to take place through a mediator – Sultan Ahmed.
The Enforcement Directorate had also previously hinted that Islamic Research Foundation(IRF) was getting financial aid from the Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan’s spy agency ISI.
A couple of days ago, Iqbal Kaskar countered Indian media reports which claimed that Dawood is very ill. Later He informed the interrogators from the Intelligence Bureau and the Thane police’s crime branch that Dawood is living in Pakistan in a very good health.
Kaskar said, he has spoken with his other brother, Anees Ibrahim, who also lives in Pakistan with Dawood, only four or five times in the recent past. Iqbal was taken into custody from his sister Hasina Parker house in Nagpada area in Central Mumbai by a team led by encounter specialist and the anti-extortion cell’s senior police inspector Pradeep Sharma.
