Mumbai: Prashant Sibal (43) ended his life by jumping from 15th floor on Friday morning 4th Aug 2017. Sibal was resident of Kalpataru Habitat Parel.. According to police, Sibal had lost his job as a General Manager in the Sales department at Tata Motors in April and had been suffering from depression, which tempted him to take this extreme step.

Police got to know about the death when they received a call from the residents of Kalpataru Habitat regarding the incident. “He broke the net of the refuge area and jumped to discover the death,” said a police officer from Kalachowki police station to Mumbai Mirror. Sibal was rushed to the nearby KEM hospital where he was pronounced by doctor as death. Sibal used to stay on the sixth floor of the building with his wife and two children – a 14-year-old daughter and a nine-year-old son, reported Mumbai Mirror.

“We found a suicide note at his residence, which said that no one should be blamed for his suicide and that he was taking the extreme step as he was depressed,” said Ugale, senior PI, Kalachowki police to the paper. Ugale also added that he had attempted suicide earlier. Sibal was being treated at PD Hinduja hospital. “He hadn’t left home ever since he lost his job. He would hardly sleep at night, fearing about the future of his children,” added Ugale. An accidental death report (ADR) case has been registered by the police to further investigate the case.A spokesperson from Tata Motors told the paper, “We are deeply saddened by the passing away of Mr. Prashant Sibal, a former employee of Tata Motors. He had opted for VRS from services of the company in April 2017. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we will provide all the necessary support. We are fully cooperating with the concerned authorities investigating this matter.”
