BJP chief Amit Shah again criticizes Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Vice president on his second Yatra in Porbandar on 2nd October. He said that Rahul must replace his “Italian glasses” and wear “Gujarati glasses” to allow him to see the kind of development the BJP has ensured in the state.

Shah said, “Congress is asking what Modi government has given Gujarat in these three years. So I want to remind Rahul that the Modi government approved an AIIMS for Gujarat, an international airport for Rajkot, approval to raise the height of the Narmada dam and allocation of homes to six lakh urban poor”. He added, “Rahul cannot see the development as he is wearing Italian glasses and to see the development he needs to remove the Italian ones and wear Gujarati ones”.

For the key assembly elections in Gujarat, the Congress — which hopes to leverage any anti-incumbency sentiment against the BJP, which has ruled Gujarat for two decades straight  has designed its attack around development, coining the slogan “Vikas Gando Thayu Chhe or development gone crazy” as it points on potholed roads and skewed development against BJP has countered the Congress with “Hu Vikas Chhu, Hu Gujarat Chhu or I am development, I am Gujarat.”

The yatra flagged off on Sunday will travel throughout central and north Gujarat which was led by Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and state BJP president Jitu Vaghani, respectively.

The hometown of PM Modi, where he served as CM for 13 years before he became PM. Mr. Shah said that he has set his party a target of winning 150 out of 182 seats in the state.
