Mumbai: In a bid to change its image from anti-Maratha after a controversial cartoon in Saamana, to a pro-Maratha party, the Shiv Sena has decided to provide food and drinking water to Marathas who will gather on August 9 in Mumbai for a protest.
Legislators belonging to Maratha community met CM Devendra Fadnavis under leadership of Narayan Rane, Congress leader and member of state legislative Council (MLC) on Friday evening. Rane said that he met CM to felicitate Maratha protestors and the state to help them to organize silent protest. ManikraoShinde-Patil, leader of Maratha Morcha said, “We have not given leadership to Rane, in fact, he asked us to let him do it.”
