Mumbai: Twenty-seven-year-old Bollywood singer YashWadali was arrested by the Bangur Nagar police at 12:45 am on Friday in connection with the molestation case registered against him.
Wadali was in the middle of his live performance at Oshiwara’sHymus lounge where the police nabbed him, said senior inspector from Bangur Nagar police station. “Wadali was performing live at the lounge when the police arrived to arrest him. He tried to escape but the police arrested him”.
Wadali was produced before the Borivali Magistrate’s court that has remanded him in judicial custody till August 18. He has moved an application for anticipatory bail and the hearing is expected on Saturday, said Vipin Dube, counsel for Wadali. He has been accused of molesting a 39-year-old woman. The incident took place at the residence of the victim’s friend, where the accused and few other friends were also present in Goregaon on Wednesday.
